The german 52-cm (20,47 inches) mortar ''Berta'' was deployed on the Leningrad front. It was a captured french gun originally. (ftg)

    I read that Pais gun vas so inacurate, that it was only suitable for targets as big as city. But that was beter than bomb city vith Zepelins

    Navyson, what you mentioned was the "Paris-Geschütz" (Paris gun). The "Dicke Bertha" was not a railroad gun. The "Paris-Geschütz" had a range of 130km (80.78 miles!!!) but a caliber of "only" 21cm (8.27 inches).

    Right, the "Dicke Bertha" (Fat Bertha, mind the different spelling of the name) of WW1 was a different artillery piece. It was a mortar as well but with a smaller caliber of 42cm (16.54 inches). Strasser, the WW2-Berta had a maximum range of 17,5km (10.87 miles).
