Hi, my name is Scott and this is my grandfather. The photo was taken in India in 1944. My grandfather served in  10 Platoon, B Company, 9thBattalion, The Border Regiment, 48thBrigade, 17thDivison in Burma. He fought many in battles including the battle for Potsangbam.

My grandfather and his wife, as also their two daughters, shown in 1942, one of the last pictures. 1944 he needed to kill himself in France, because he told in a party that the war is lost.
He died 04.06.1944 
In memory for him and the hope, a war like this never happens anymore in this world!

Having joined the German Regular Army in 1932, no doubt rather than being jobless, this photo was taken around 1935.

I wonder if he had any idea what would be expected of him from 1939 onward.
