The M8 Scott self propelled howitzer ( 1942 - 1944 ) was based on the M5 chasis.  Used by both the US Army and Marines, they served in all theaters.  Total weight was 32,600 lbs., they had a crew of 4, were equipped with twin Cadillac V8 motors, which could reach 38 mph on roads, 18 mph off road.  The main gun was a M2/M3 75mm howitzer.
